I started my notes long time ago, like 3 years. And I have been using Zettlr all this time. It works kinda nice, but sometimes it consumes a lot of resources. So I have tried to look for alternatives.

I tried Obsidian. Also I tried it at the beginning of my notes but I did not like it then. I tried it again, and here is my conclusion:

• It is a bit different from Zettler. All the references are related to the filename, however I use Front matter for the titles. It can be fixed with some plugins
• Latex is not well integrated as in Zettlr. It seems that Zettlr is more complete
• The Wiki links / references, follows a different standard, and breaks my notes. It cannot be customized. This is for example I use 20240823 - Obsidian or Zettlr, and Obsidian would put something like [[20240823133312|Obsidian]] Obsidian or Zettlr, that is going to break between systems.
• In general Obsidian is light, more beautiful, but it misses some feautures that I need to use all the time when I write.

Zettler for the other hand:

• Mac implementation sucks
• I am more used to it
• I will continue using it
