Lately I had a problem and my Altium stoped working. Buuuuuut I expected that so I have plenty of copies of my VMware machine. The steps are:

1. Extract vmware vm
2. The first time is gonna be slooooow.
3. Defragment files and consolifate free space on the software.
4. Reboot your host machine to have the full integration.
5. With that, everything should be working fine.
6. Now copy the templates from the conf of altium to the share folders of templates.

Tests on Mac

My macbook pro can run Altium, normal, but slow. And solidworks kinda the same but after doing this 20231213 - Solidworks in VMWare. Maybe is not very confortable, but definetly I would be able to make some designs with patience.

This means that you dont need to have a super beefy machine to run this virtual machines, or even a big graphic card. Maybe is not suuuuper fast, but it simply works.
