Question the idea of rewards and productivity. People didnt’t like it, people want money and respect. Many studies shows is inproductive. Because punish, the thought they are manipulated, if you are not rewarded you are punished. Reduce quality of work. Less likely to ask coworkers, it is dangerous and redouce productivity.

The lecture and the reading are both discussing if it is possible to increse productivity of employees by rewarding them. White the reading states that workers are more motivated with rewards, the lecturer refutes this by givin some reasons.
Firstly, the reading argues that employees have more attitude and motivation if the are compensated with special privileges. However, the lecturer thinks that people does not like to be rewarded with luxury vacations, instead they want to earn more money.
Secondly, the reading states that a well structured reward system can increase the productivity of a company. The lecturer argues that giving rewards to employees cause that they think the they are manipulated. It is possible that employees change their mind and they start to feel that if you are not rewarded is like you are punished. In this scenario only workers with high productivity get new privileges.
